A plaque was placed under her portrait in the Lower School hallway that reads, “Mrs. Johnette “Johny” DeRose, Served Valley School of Ligonier from September 1, 1977 - June 30, 2016, Dedicated Teacher, Admissions Director, and Administrator.” Dr. Strecker proudly acknowledged Mrs. DeRose for her 39 years of service with the placement of the plaque. She will be returning to read her recently published children’s books, Letters from Liza and Puppy Pals and Puppy Tales, to the students in the library after Winter Recess.
