Upper School Division Head (Grades 5-8)
David was born and raised in Southern California in a city just south of Los Angeles, where his mother and siblings still reside. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. In 2001, he completed his Master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Administration/Supervision from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He began working for Valley School of Ligonier in 1995 as a math teacher to grades 6-9, and was appointed as the Upper School Division Head in 2014. David has always been inspired by the feeling of community and family at Valley School. He loves to work alongside students and teachers in fostering their own growth, and he enjoys partnering with families while their children navigate the Middle School years.
Outside of school, David shares his life with his wife and daughter. He is actively involved in his church community, where he has volunteered with faith formation of both children and adults. He and his wife also serve annually as the front gate coordinators at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival. At home, in Pittsburgh, David finds peace working in his yard and garden, having learned much about raising flowers and plants from his friends at Valley School.
