Lakeisha, a local to the area, knew from a young age that she wanted to be a teacher. She graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 before moving to Fairfax County, VA to teach third grade. After two years, she moved home to her new husband and became a preschool teacher in Ligonier.
With a hunger to learn, Lakeisha earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education just as she began her public-school journey at Westmont Hilltop School District in 2018. There, she taught first and second grade before discovering her love for kindergarten. Ready for a change, she decided to leap into a new journey at Valley School in 2022.
Along her professional path, Lakeisha created a family of 5 with her husband, Alex. Together, they have 3 children: Evelyn (a first-grader at Valley School), Maxine (4), & Bennett (1). They recently moved into their forever home in Stahlstown, just a few minutes from both of their parents’ farms, and are excited about the many adventures Valley School will hold.
