Debbie Mewherter

“As a violinist and music educator, I enjoy performing and sharing the compositions and creations of others. My passion, however, is to share my own artistic and creative talents with our students by designing, fashioning, and sewing their costumes for Valley 
School’s annual musical.”

Debbie Mewherter has been sharing her expertise as a stringed instrument teacher and music educator for 50 years. After many years teaching in public schools and serving as a church music and education director, she came to Valley School in 1989. She has served as a strings teacher, orchestra director, and Lower School teaching assistant.

 

Debbie frequently shares her first-hand experiences as an orchestra and small ensemble violinist with the young musicians at Valley School, instilling the responsibility of regular practice, concert etiquette, and collaboration in concert preparation. She takes pride in providing the foundation for Valley School’s instrumental students to enjoy lifelong involvement in music activities.
