Valley School Stories

Valley School Transforms into the Kingdom of Arendelle

Sara Paterson
Under the direction of Mr. Brian Jinks, the fifth- and sixth-grade students of Valley School put on the musical performance Frozen KIDS.
On the morning of Wednesday, December 18, the entire school community gathered to watch the dress rehearsal of the show along with the fifth- and sixth-grade orchestra performance. The orchestra played some holiday-themed tunes while the Frozen KIDS musical featured music and song lyrics adapted from the 2018 Broadway musical, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2013 film, Frozen, written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer LeeThen, on the evening of December 18, the student orchestra again performed their holiday-themed repertoire of songs and the Frozen KIDS musical performance. Audience members were treated to the music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez, including “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. After the performances, Valley School families and friends enjoyed some festive holiday activities and a sweet treat planned by our Class Ambassador, including photos with a Valley School wooden sleigh hand-crafted by a current parent.
